While everyone was at home feasting on holiday dinners and enjoying their winter break, the Falcon boys soccer team was busy taking 1st place in tournaments and preparing for season. Pre-season tournaments were held in Lancaster and La Puente, Ca. Palmdale left the Lancaster tournament with an early Christmas present beating Pete Knight 3-2 in the final. About a week later they took first place in the Upland Tournament with a final score of 3-2 against Nogales High School. The varsity soccer team was flourishing. The next task was to continue the winning streak in the season. So far into the season Palmdale’s varsity boys are showing their talent with extraordinary offensive and defensive skill and great technique. The season started with an away game against Lancaster ending in a 4-1 win and a good start to the season. Despite the good start, the first upset came when they played against Pete knight at their home, losing 2-0. The bad luck continued when AV High scoreda goal against Palmdale leaving the score 0-1 at half time. Palmdale bounced back viciously and scored 4 goals in the second half beating AV in the end. Littlerock would be the next team to collide with Palmdale losing 1-3 on their home field. Highland came next to face Palmdale but could not take them down. Palmdale left victorious with a score of 3-1. Lancaster suffered greatly in the next match when Palmdale dealt five goals to win the game. Quartz Hill also felt the multiple goal loss losing 5-0 also. So far the Palmdale Varsity soccer team is showing no mercy and is succeeding because of it. Their talent will hopefully earn them a Golden league Championship. Varsity Defense Victor Ramirez says, “We’re doing good but we can’t take a tie or a loss, we need to win the rest of the games.” After a long season, the Falcons beat Highland 4-1 to finish in 1st place becom-.
