The Business & Information Technology SLC is defined by its commitment to helping all students achieve the highest levels of success academically, vocationally and personally. Our purpose is to provide students with abundant opportunities to learn more, explore interests, develop new skills and enhance those they already possess, ensuring their years at PHS and beyond will be positive and productive.

The Business & Information Technology SLC offers two very distinct but highly integrated pathways from which to choose:

Business
The Business strand of our SLC boasts the following courses that make up the foundations of all business education.

Contemporary Study of Business
Computerized Accounting
Financial Literacy
Economics and Entrepreneurs
Retail Marketing & Sales (ROP).

Retail Marketing & Sales is the capstone course for the business pathway. Students intern at local businesses.

Information Technology
The Information Technology strand of our SLC is comprised of courses that focus on the integrated nature of technology and prepare our students for careers in the world of IT.

Web manager I-IV (can be taken all 4 years)
Multimedia Contemporary Design I
Multimedia Contemporary Design II

The capstone courses in the IT pathway are the Falcon Tech courses offered at PHS through ROP. These courses provide students with skills and opportunities for certifications that make the instantly marketable in today’s workplace. Courses offered are:

Technology Projects
Information Support Services
Network Systems
Technology Careers Internship
