A Message from Principal Nehen

Hello Falcons. 

Welcome to the start of the 2012-2013 school year! The first day of school, August 13th, is coming upon us quickly. All of us at PHS are very excited about the upcoming year.

The goal of everyone at PHS is to create a safe and supportive learning atmosphere where teachers can teach students the necessary skills to be successful in the 21st century and students can be free to learn, explore and grow into responsible adults during their four years here. As partners in this endeavor, we want you, parents/guardians and students, to stay informed about class assignments, homework, grades and attendance. In addition to phone calls, progress reports, meetings, etc., the PowerSchool Parent Portal at https://powerschool.avhsd.org/ students allows for easy access to student progress. Parent log-in and passwords will be distributed shortly after school begins. General school information is available on the PHS web site.

Again, t he first day of school is Monday, August 13th. This will be a flex day, starting at 7:30 a.m. and ending at 1:00 p.m. All incoming freshman will receive their class schedules in the large gym; sophomores, juniors and seniors will be directed to a classroom for their schedule.

We look forward to an exciting first day and anticipate an excellent year.
