Mission:

The Student Support Services Team ensures all students will demonstrate the skills to become life long learners in a diverse, technological society. Students will be equipped to function as personally and socially responsible citizens.

Counselors:

Palmdale High School Counselors offer services to students in three major domains:

• Academic
• Career
• Personal and Social

The program focuses on what skills students will develop, what attitudes they will form, and what knowledge they will acquire in each of the three domains. Counselors specialize in vari-ous areas so students are not assigned to a particular counselor; they have equal access to all counselors. Students are encouraged to consult with a counselor on an individual basis when they need to address a problem or concern. Counselors provide services through classroom presentations, small groups, and one-on-one consultations.

Counselors consult with students, parents, teachers, administrators, and the public. Students visit the Guidance Office on the breaks, lunch, before and after school, and when referred for an emergency at anytime throughout the day. Counselor of the Day is available to parents, teachers, administrators, and the public on a walk-in basis .
